What a wonderful, uplifting post. Your home sounds very special. There's a strong chance I will be checking the mileage from our corner of rural Vienne to your writer's retreat. Bravo. Love the declaration "je suis une écrivaine"
.. et moi aussi je suis une écrivaine, mais je vis en Amerique! J'ecris des livres de cuisine en anglais, bien que je sois francophone. You home looks paradisiaque! Merci!
Kate...came over from Sarah's Office Party this morning. What a feast for the eyes! I loved every word, loved, loved, loved the photographs, pictured myself there, desired a writer's nook of my own. I subscribed and restacked. Thank you for giving my morning such a gift.
Kate! I love envisioning your writer’s retreat. I love your declaration and career change. And I love the way you talk about food. I remember the first time I learned you could eat nasturtiums--the delight of adding their color to a salad and then their flavor. ♥️
Ah Camont. Our time there with you was so truly special. Yes, Camont is sun, earth, canal, flowers, vegetables, peace, and possibility, but most of all it is you, Kate. You have made it the beautiful and inspirational place it is. Still dreaming of coming back to shop, harvest, and cook with you again. Can’t wait to hear about your next project!

Je suis écrivaine . . .
Yes, so true. Happily I am not a French writer. So I leave my grammatical faux pas stand. Mais merci! Maintenant, je suis écrivaine.
No article is used referring to jobs (in a general context)
Examples:
Elle est laborantine.
but: Je connais la laborantine. → to talk about a specific person
C’est une bonne laborantine. → to talk about a particular quality
.. et moi aussi je suis une écrivaine, mais je vis en Amerique! J'ecris des livres de cuisine en anglais, bien que je sois francophone. You home looks paradisiaque! Merci!
Girl you are not messing around with those sandwiches are you? Seriously good looking
I want to eat the garden between the crusts of a good French baguette 🥖!

Loved this post! The writing, the photos and the happy outcome of knowing.
Thank you Jeanine.
It looks absolutely gorgeous! 💛
