And sometimes chez nous can also be chez old! Which means - work on the old homestead is in order today. And perhaps a French inspired dinner tonight. Something with aubergines ...
What a great start defining "chez toi"! I didn't realize Lot et Garonne was the 4th agricultural department in France, although I know of course it's rural. I've often heard that Aveyron is 5th, but I suppose there are different ways to rank.
It’s no surprise that the converging Lot and Garonne rivers are the real riches of this area producing the top ranking strawberries, tomatoes, plums and grapes shipped all over France and Europe..
I like your France a lot. Was in the Agen area and drove north, east and west and stopped wherever to look around to see where I might find my new home!.Thanks Kate for your sensible and uncomplicated viewpoint.
I love this, discovering a little more about my own neighborhood… and I’d love to see more of your painting!
It thrills my soul to know places like this still exist.
I guess that's my duty here, keeping it safe.
What a beautiful beginning to a new chapter in your life. As Tamsin below, I would love to see more of your painting.

Brava! Aubergines for inspiration!
Anxiously awaiting picks from the kitchen stair bookshelf!
Thanks Amie. I am thinking about which ones to highlight first. My first books? or my most used?
first things first!
A work of love.
Polishing the floors with duck fat! How luxurious!
Thank you, Kate, for always sharing your place with us!
hey you! time for a revisit?
I'm working on a plan ;)

How lucky I am to have seen your amazing house and to have met you and been inspired by it all.
You're love of life and your home is evident in every word and image you share. I can't wait to visit In person. It feels like home to me to me.
Geez, I hate it when typing on my phone autocorrects "your" into "you're" and I miss it before posting.
No worries!
Spending a month with you in 2011, much of it at Camont, will always be a happy memory for me, Kate, andI feel so lucky to have been able to do that.
Thank you for another fascinating post!
You are a lovely writer.
Thank you Jen! I am glad you enjoy reading my words as much as I enjoy writing them!
Such a lovely window into what and where you do what you do Kate
Thanks so much Mark. it's been a long loyal love affair here- me and this plot of land and old stones. I'm happy to open that window for you!
