November at Camont is a month of flights and gatherings—from the annual migration of the long-winged grey cranes heading to winter grounds to the gathering around a table laden with roasted stuffed birds and other dishes for an ex-pat French Friendsgiving. I find my culinary inspiration in the historical farm memories of Camont and all my farming neighbors here in Ste. Colombe-en-Bruilhois and the surrounding Garonne River valley. I remember these stories told around the tables, meals shared with French friends, and shopping for recipes and local produce in the weekly markets of Gascony.
