February 6-Almanac for Belonging. Anchoring Roots at the Kitchen Window.
So many years ago that I have forgotten, someone told me that the best thing for your garden was called “Kitchen Window Fertilizer.” Basically, it was that which you could see from your kitchen window grew better. Why? It is the constant keeping track, the ongoing overview, and the gentle daily attention that those flower or potager beds receive when we look out our dirty dishes or morning coffee that provides the extra care.
But more than just the view, I also make my kitchen windows a garden with a rotating collection of pots, old terracotta bowls, and vintage kitchenware to celebrate the close at hand herbs and flowers that keep my life anchored in the seasons that I write about. Join me later this month (Sat. Feb 21) for a Masterclass in Belonging to your Kitchen Window. Subscribe for all the details.
